Deputy Shell Open-Source Components and Corresponding Source
Deputy Shell includes open-source software.
This page provides licence information and corresponding source code for open-source components distributed with Deputy Shell.
It does not publish the complete source code of the proprietary Deputy Shell Android application.
Source archive for this release
Corresponding-source coverage
- GNU Bash 5.3.9 — GPL-3.0-or-later
- GNU Readline 8.3.3 — GPL-3.0-or-later

Archive contents
The archive contains the retained upstream source, applicable patches, build recipes, build instructions and licence texts for the components listed above.
In-app notices
Licence texts and attribution notices are also available offline inside Deputy Shell: Settings → Open-source licences.
Availability
Each source archive will remain available for at least three years after the corresponding binary release stops being distributed.
Deputy Shell intends to retain source archives for longer where practical.
Runtime replacement
Deputy Shell does not re-hash or restore modified extracted runtime files during an ordinary application restart.
An application update, runtime-version change or reprovisioning event may replace the runtime directory, requiring modifications to be reapplied.
Modified runtime components are unsupported and are used at the user's own risk.
