Local Storage and Data

By default, Deputy Shell keeps everything it creates in the app's own private Android storage: your project and workspace files, project/session names, recent terminal context, your preferences and privacy choices, and any signed-in agent credentials (such as your Codex sign-in).

Excluded from backup

This app-private data is excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup and device-to-device transfer — it stays on the device unless you deliberately move it, for example with workspace export.

Once you export

Files you explicitly export (a workspace ZIP, or a diagnostics export) leave app-private storage and land at whatever destination you chose — a folder on your device, a cloud-drive app, or wherever else Android's document picker lets you save to. From that point, ordinary Android file permissions and whatever app you saved it to govern that copy, not Deputy Shell.
