Create a project

Use "+ New Project" from the sidebar. Deputy Shell requires an explicit, non-duplicate name — it does not auto-generate placeholder names like "Project 1," so pick a name before creating one.

Rename a project

Renaming a project changes its display name in the sidebar. There is also an optional action to rename the underlying workspace folder to match. That folder rename is blocked while the project has sessions assigned to it or while an import/export is running for that project, and it fails safely — without losing any data — if a folder with the destination name already exists.

Delete a project

Deleting a non-default project removes only its sidebar entry. The workspace folder and its files are not deleted — they remain on your device's storage. Any sessions that belonged to the deleted project become "ungrouped" and show a notice explaining that their workspace files remain on disk even though the project entry is gone. Deletion is blocked while an import or export is actively running for that project.
